MALHY Community Outreach Protective Services Inc. held its 2022 fundraising gala at Warren Ranch in Temecula Wine Country on Sept. 25. Warren Ranch is owned by Romi Warren who sits on the board of MALHY and serves as the event coordinator. The organization, whose acronym stands for Mental Health, Addiction, Love, Human Trafficking, and Youth Literacy provides free resources to individuals aged 10-25 in the Southern California region.The resources MALHY provides are completely free of charge and include counseling services and recovery programs, housing, job placement, food, clothing, financial education, serving legal documents to alleged offenders, sports camps, notary services and medical exams. Soon to be added are mediation services.
When Jessica Smith found herself faced with unfamiliar issues affecting her children, such as suicide and human trafficking, she did not know where to turn for help. It led her to create a community outreach nonprofit organization that offers free resources to help other families who find themselves in uncharted waters.The main purpose of M.A.L.H.Y. Community Outreach Protective Services Inc. is to lead individuals “to accept their free spirit, redefine their freedom and create a positive personal survival journey.” Providing free resources and services for ages 10-25, its acronym represents several areas that will help young people reach their full potential.

Perris Lake High School
PERRIS – M.A.L.H.Y. Community Outreach Protective Services Inc. hosted a human trafficking awareness event at Perris Lake High School Tuesday, Oct. 17, with special programs coordinator Robert Bryant of Perris Lake High School presenting. The human trafficking awareness presentation was attended by over 75 students, parents, faculty and staff members. On the panel were experts from the trafficking field such as author, counselor, teacher, advocate and human trafficking survivor Dess Perkins; founder of M.A.L.H.Y. Jessica Smith; mental health counselor Jehrel Bruno; Perris Youth Services representative and Riverside County Sheriff Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force Deputy.

Marjorie Saylor
Survivor Leader & Program Director Alabaster Jar Project.Marjorie
Saylor is a survivor of sex and labor trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. In 2017 she Founded The Well Path, which provided emergency shelter services to both male and female survivors across the US with her hotel voucher program for 5 years. Now She is the current Program Director of Alabaster Jar Project’s long term shelter program and drop-in resource center for adult women survivors of sex trafficking. She is also the Board President of the Survivor Leader Network of San Diego, which advocates for legislation recommendations for victims of trafficking while working to mentor other survivors into leaders. She currently sits as the Chair of the Survivor Voice Subcommittee on the San Diego County Human Trafficking and CSEC Advisory Council. Marjorie has been very active in the community helping to educate and inform delegates, law enforcement, healthcare workers, community advocates, others, and
students at all levels of education, as she works to ensure the safety of her communities. She has spoken internationally and was just awarded a proclamation from the County of San Diego recognizing Jan 11th, 2023, as “Marjorie Saylor Day” in San Diego County in honor of the national human trafficking awareness day and her work to prevent trafficking in the region.
